Kolaka, February 12, 2025 – Students of the English Language Study Program at the University of Nineteen November (USN) held a joint community service event to clean lecture rooms and surrounding areas. This activity was carried out as a preventive measure to curb the breeding of Aedes aegypti mosquitoes, which cause dengue fever and malaria, especially since Kolaka Regency has now entered the rainy season.
One of the students, Nurahmi from the English Language Study Program, stated that this activity is a form of students' concern for their learning environment to ensure a healthy and comfortable atmosphere.
“We want to create a clean and healthy environment so that students can study more comfortably and avoid diseases caused by mosquitoes,” said Nurahmi.
The Head of the English Language Study Program at USN appreciated the students' initiative in maintaining campus cleanliness. He expressed his pride in the students' awareness and proactive actions in creating a healthier and more comfortable learning environment.
“This is a very positive activity and deserves appreciation. I am proud to see students having a high awareness of campus cleanliness and health,” he said.
With this community service event, it is hoped that the entire academic community at USN will become more aware of environmental cleanliness and the dangers of mosquito-borne diseases. This collective awareness is expected to serve as an example for other communities in maintaining a healthy environment.
