KOLAKA – Students of the English Education Study Program at Universitas Sembilanbelas November (USN) Kolaka successfully organized the World Cultural Festival on Thursday, December 19, 2024. The event, held at the USN Kolaka Auditorium, served as the final project for the Cross-Cultural Understanding course and featured a variety of exciting activities, including a fashion show, cultural performances, poster exhibitions, and an international food bazaar.
According to the Head of the Organizing Committee, the primary objective of this event was expected to enhance cross-cultural awareness and foster students' creativity. “We want to provide a platform for students to learn about and appreciate cultural diversity while also encouraging them to express their creativity,” he explained.
Henriawan, S.Pd., M.Ed., the lecturer of the Cross-Cultural Understanding course, expressed his hope that the event would continue to be held annually. “This event not only enriches students’ cultural knowledge but also equips them with valuable skills in event management, teamwork, and cross-cultural communication,” he stated.
In his remarks, Dean of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Dr. Syarifudin Tunreng, S.S., M.Pd., praised the students' initiative and their creativity. “I am truly impressed by their dedication and innovative approach to learning. I fully support the continuation of this event in the coming years,” he said.
The World Cultural Festival was warmly received by students, faculty, and community members alike, creating an engaging and educational atmosphere that celebrated cultural diversity and unity. The success of this event underscores the commitment of USN Kolaka to nurturing globally minded and culturally aware graduates.
